The Cotswold Wool Company was started in 2017 as a means to promote the past, present and future of Cotswold Wool.

What is Cotswold Wool?

Cotswold wool comes from the Cotswold breed of sheep. An ancient and historic rare breed which was once prolific in the Cotswold region, contributed significantly to the wealth of the area and, at one point in time, was considered the finest in the world. Fit to clothe kings and queens.

What can I make with Cotswold Wool?

Cotswold wool has a very high lustre and is incredibly strong. The sheep produce lovely long curly locks. These locks are often used for fibre art during weaving or felting. Once the fibre is carded and spun into yarns for knitting, crochet or weaving, many items can be made including sweaters, bags, socks, shawls and more.
